About Rena
Rena’s path began in stillness long before she ever stepped onto a yoga mat. Raised by Palestinian immigrant parents and shaped by a lineage of medicine, devotion, and service, she learned early about the fragility and beauty of life. Her family’s spiritual descent was rich, guided in part by her grandfather, an Episcopalian priest in Beirut, Lebanon. When her mother passed away at age thirteen, Rena discovered a quiet refuge in the sanctuary of church pews—where silence held her, and a sense of the sacred first touched her heart.
In her early twenties, unprocessed childhood grief resurfaced as waves of anxiety. Yoga arrived as a lifeline. Through breath and movement, the emotions she had carried for years began to soften and release. Yoga became medicine—guiding her home to herself.
For more than two decades, Rena has walked a path of devotion as both a teacher and student. She practiced occupational therapy for over ten years, primarily working with patients who suffered from traumatic brain injuries—this work deepened her compassion and her capacity to hold others with presence. Her yoga studies with world renowned teachers Erich Schiffmann, Darren Rhodes, Christina Sell, and Noah Mazé opened her further, inviting her to explore how the peace she found on the mat could be lived within the everyday rhythms of life.
Rena’s soul work reveals itself through her relationship with emotion. She believes that feeling deeply is a spiritual practice—that being human is a sacred experience. Her dharma is to guide others into the fullness of their own inner landscape, helping them meet their emotions as gateways to truth, connection, and wholeness.
Her spiritual studies span many years, including immersive work with the Foundation for Spiritual Development, extensive coursework with master teachers Jenai Lane, and ongoing private study with Amrito Cross. These teachings eventually led her to become a certified Spirit Coach®, where her devotion to supporting others could expand with clarity and purpose. She is also a founding member of the Sacred Heart Society, a devotional community dedicated to prayer and spiritual practice.
Today, Rena blends precise alignment, breathwork, intuitive insight, and emotional wisdom into practices that are both grounding and deeply transformative. As an ERYT-500 Yoga Alliance Teacher, she has been teaching yoga consistently in Marin County since 2003, supporting students in returning to presence—on the mat and in their lives. She is also a teacher on the global platform Insight Timer, where she offers guided meditations.
As a Spirit Coach®, she guides clients in awakening to their highest potential through connection to the divine. As a wife and mother, she embodies her practice moment by moment. As a human, she continues to feel, soften, return, and open to grace.
For Rena, spirituality is not separate from life—it is life. Every breath an invitation. Every moment a doorway. Every feeling a path home.
